If you add a BT headset to the mix, you now have one more thing to keep control of. You have the internal speaker, AirTunes and now wireless headphones. Sound Menu can make switching convenient for your headphones. It's free.
Install and a new speaker icon will appear on your menu bar. This allows you to quickly choose your headset or speaker and internal mic or other mic. It also lets you set system noises to run on the speaker while audio comes through your headsets and lets you call up the System Sound Preferences pane quickly.
