Why the Air

I should't need to justify why the Air is the laptop for some of us. But it seems that there are many detractors out there misunderstanding what the air is all about so here's the brief justification.

While the air is highly advanced, it's not the fastest laptop. Or the one with the biggest memory. It's not an all-purpose laptop designed to do everything well. If you're Robert Rodriguez, I don't recommend you edit your next movie on the Air. It's not that you can't, it's just that that's not what the air is designed for.

The Air is the ideal coffee shop laptop. If your weekly routine includes browsing the net or listening to internet radio while typing an email or crunching a spreadsheet at Panera for a few spare hours, this is the best laptop for it.

So what about the technological advancement? The Air is the future now. Apple is a little ahead of the curve on it and some of us are already working like people will in the future. Solid state memory, a giant flash drive with no moving parts is where technology is headed. And the Air makes a wireless world a reality. In addition to the latest tools for wireless communication, the Air gets easily three hours without an AC tether, making it truly wireless.

But then, if you've read this far, you already own an Air or are sold on the idea and don't require any evangeism, just some practical advice on how to get the most out of your Air.
